Average US 30-Year Mortgage Rate Rises to 3.45 Percent

ortgage giant Freddie Mac said Thursday the average for the benchmark 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rose to 3.45 percent from 3.42 percent last week. The average rate is down sharply from 4.04 percent a year ago.

UCC board moves forward with Snyder Hall construction

OSEBURG, Ore. -- Umpqua Community College's Snyder Hall is one step closer to its new form. The UCC Board of Trustees are moving forward with Snyder Hall construction where plans are in place to remodel the building where the October 1, 2015 shooting happened. Wednesday, the UCC Board of Trustees approved Anderson Construction as its construction manager/general contractor for the project. They chose to stay with the same contractor that is currently working on the Health, Nurse and Sciences building.

Douglas County Real Estate Market Sees Sales Decline | Published: 7/15/2016 | Homesnap Real...

In this week's report, the number of homes sold in the Douglas County market fell to 143 over the past 30 days, a decrease of 11.2% from last week's report, but still above the monthly average. Within the same time period, Lane County had 457 sales, the most of all counties in the area. Prices are falling in Douglas County, and this period the median price of all sales fell from $173,500 to $167,000.
